I guess there will be a Global Literacy Conference in the fall of this year, as part of UNESCO's Education for All initiative. This press release from the US Dept of Education (posted a couple of weeks ago) outlines the announcement, made by Laura Bush. I'll be interested to see what's on the agenda!
